How could this happen?<\/h3>\n

Your basement is surrounded by the soil around your home and this soil contains moisture. And on occasion, especially during spring runoff or heavy rains, the soil can become saturated leaving the water nowhere to go. This moisture\/water then enters your basement through the small invisible cracks that form in concrete, or it enters at the base of the wall where it meets the floor.<\/p>\n
